The Board--CEO Relationship

It is often maintained in theoretical models for board roles that the board and the work of the organization's top manager (Executive Director, or Chief Executive Officer) and the board must be kept rigidly separate. In actual fact their roles are very interdependent and frequently overlap. The sites in this section discuss how to make this interdependent relationship work and minimize the conflict and confusion that often characterizes it.
