Vic Murray is currently Adjunct Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria. Until July 1995, he was Director of the Voluntary Sector Management Program in the Faculty of Administrative Studies at York University, Toronto. Vic is the driving force behind the VSKN project and is the chair of the Mentors' Council.

Dr. Murray specializes in the study of voluntary sector organizations of all types with particular emphasis on the areas of board governance, strategic planning, inter-organizational collaboration and the assessment of organizational effectiveness. He is also an active consultant in these areas.

As Director of the Nonprofit Leadership and Management Program at York University he developed several of the first certificate and masters level courses in that field. He is the author of over 100 books, articles and papers in the fields of organizational behaviour and nonprofit management. Currently, he is an Associate Editor for the journal Nonprofit Management and Leadership, Contributing Editor to Human Resources Management in Canada and active in the Association for Nonprofit Research and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA)
